How a curious little chef and his magical mochi friend came to life
Every great recipe begins with a spark ⚡️ Ours began in a cosy kitchen filled with the smell of freshly baked bread, bubbling pasta, and stories from faraway lands.
As a child, I loved two things above all else: creativity and imagination. Stepping into worlds like Narnia or Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory always felt like pure magic. I didn’t just want to read about them, I wanted to step inside and explore every corner. Years later, I wanted to capture that same sense of wonder for children everywhere… and so, Choux-Choux & Mochi were born.
🌍 A Little Chef with Big Dreams
Choux-Choux is a bright, curious seven-year-old who dreams of becoming the world’s greatest chef. With his white apron, warm smile, and endless questions, he reminds us that learning about food is really learning about people - their stories, traditions, and love shared through meals.
By his side is Mochi, his magical mochi ball friend - soft, loyal, and full of surprises. Together, they travel the world using their enchanted hamper, Hampy, who's part kitchen, part time-travelling portal. They explore new countries, try local dishes, and meet the people who make them special.

Each book in the Around the World with Choux-Choux & Mochi series takes children on a culinary journey - from tossing pizza dough in Naples to whisking matcha in Japan.

📚 Why I Wrote It
I wanted to create a series that didn’t just entertain, but inspired curiosity. Something that encouraged children to roll up their sleeves, ask questions, and taste the world - literally!
Cooking is creativity, patience, and love. Through Choux-Choux’s adventures, I hope young readers learn that mistakes are part of the magic — and that every great chef, big or small, starts with curiosity.
